"This is the first song that I wrote as I was emotionally moved back into creating music. I was sitting on a wooden bench in the backyard of the first house I had ever rented after college. Sitting alone, calm and curious, with the guitar on my lap and close to my chest, I wondered what would happen and then let the questions and repressions flow out.
The honest experience of my relationship to the world at this moment contently and safely revealed. I put into words and grit the unraveling of an abusive relationship with someone I grew to care deeply about. I express the confusion of this new reality with myself as someone who surprisingly cautious, distanced, hesitant, and untrustworthy.
I question what it means to be a women, if this is what it is all about, and bring back the not so in the past feelings of "Women is Losers" by Janis Joplin.
In resolve I aim to reclaim what I know to be true about being a women and being myself. Following this recognition, I move forward in my life exploring the growing the edges in the fluidity of my gender, and normalize the hunt for a healing experience of sexuality in intimate relationships.” - Cat Wolf
